I'm Zhiyu (Zoey) Chen, and I am a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University advised by Prof. Fei Fang. I will join the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas as a tenure-track assistant professor in Fall 2024. I obtained my PhD in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, advised by Prof. William Wang and Prof. Xifeng Yan.

I'm broadly interested in natural language processing and deep learning.

  • Language Agents: Designing language agents and various applications.
  • NLP for Social Good: Designing NLP techniques for interdisciplinary research, including social science and mental health.
  • Knowledge-Grounded NLP: Building intelligent and reliable natural language interface grounded on world knowledge to effectively address user requests, which covers the areas of dialogue and interaction systems, question answering, natural language generation, and knowledge reasoning.
